Sarah Grace McCandless
 
Sarah Grace is the author of two fiction novels, Grosse Pointe Girl: Tales From a Suburban Adolescence and The Girl I Wanted to Be, both published by Simon & Schuster. She has also published short fiction and essays in several anthologies, including Cassette From My Ex: Stories and Soundtracks of Lost Loves (St. Martin’s), Sexy Chix (Dark Horse Comics), and Electric Grace (Gargoyle Press).
 
Other extracurricular activities have included serving as a regional producer for Mortified Live as well as a regular contributor to a variety of publications and website, including Forces of Geek, Venus, Swindle, and Daily Candy.
 
Sarah Grace also has over 10 years of brand management and marketing strategy experience, including development of website content and digital media campaigns for a variety of industries such as entertainment, e-commerce, non-profit organizations, publishing, and more. She loves to play office, as long as everyone plays nicely.
 
SG lives with her pup Nancy Drew in Portland, Oregon, where she spends her time giving the term “multi-tasker” a run for its money. Currently on deck: continued content development and consulting for clients including Animal Planet and Delivery Agent, teaching for Mediabistro, a new creative project in the oven (no buns, though), and putting the “White Wine and Cupcakes Diet” into daily practice.

Favorite Holiday:
Halloween, without question. I love handing out candy, deciding on a costume for myself, going to pumpkin patches, and eating lots of candy corn (but I always overdo it and end up with a stomach ache).
 
Scars:
Several, but the best was the one I got when I was three, as a result of running down my Nana’s hallway with a pencil in my hand. I tripped and fell. Hard. The pencil pierced my inner left foot, near my ankle. I think the fact that I stabbed myself with a writing instrument has something to do with why writing is in my blood - literally and figuratively.
